Safeguarding

All Tower Captains and anyone else who will be teaching children and/or vulnerable adults must have a DBS check. This can be done through your church by contacting the vicar or the Safeguarding Coordinator.

Should there ever be any child protection issues within your church, your first point of contact is your Safeguarding Coordinator. This is the person who was appointed by the PCC and whose details should be displayed in the belfry.

With regard to the C0 online training and C1 and C2 combined (deanery) training, this link takes you to the relevant website page giving information on how to do both.

We ask that everyone completes the online training module C0 as it would be beneficial for everyone if all had an awareness and increased knowledge around safeguarding. This only takes an hour to complete. The deanery training which is classroom based is mandatory for Bell Tower Captains and any ringers who train children and/or vulnerable adults. This can be booked through the above link. Deanery training must be refreshed every three years, online training is a one off.

The Safeguarding Officer of the Association can be contacted by email.
