Debenham Bell Fund
The St Albans District embraces 20 towers, based around the four ringing towers in St Albans but stretching to Essendon in the East, Barnet in the South and Kings Walden in the North. We are an active District striving to support towers’ efforts in training learners. Monthly meetings
are held on the third Saturday, mostly in the morning, and may include a traditional ringers’ tea. Social events are also arranged according to the likely support expected. All ringers are very welcome at St Albans District meetings. If you are a newcomer to ringing and live in the St. Albans district please email the District Secretary for details of your nearest tower and who to contact.

The Debenham Bell Fund offers grants towards the cost of repair, purchase, maintenance or renewal of bells, fittings, ropes or related church fabric for parishes in the HCACR St Albans District. If this type of work needs to be done in one of the local towers and the band or parish needs help with covering the cost, it is possible to apply for a grant. All that is necessary is to send details of the work and the cost, supported by a quote or an invoice from the supplier.
The fund cannot necessarily cover the full cost of the work but we can often help. The trustees of can make grants of up to £1000 on their own authority. Larger grants might be possible, subject to convening a meeting and obtaining the approval of the members. Alternatively or in addition, applications can be made to the HCACR Bell Restoration Fund.
For a copy of the rules, please click here. To apply for a grant or for further information, please contact the Secretary to the Trustees and Treasurer to the Fund: email address alison.evans@btinternet.com .
